Self assesment 🤑

We are learning about Jonah and his forgiveness and what was his reaction towards God's forgiveness.

WALT use study the bible to gain an understanding that we all need  God's help, mercy, love and we are all called us to forgive others.

The Bible records many stories about "forgiving". The Lord Jesus also taught us like this: when we forgive men when they sin against us, our heavenly father will also forgive us. However, it's hard to forgive from our hearts. With God’s help you can forgive.

Your assignment is to research "forgiving", in the bible and share what you learned. You will need to use reference material such as biblegateway.com or search engines to locate stories of forgiveness in the Bible.

Begin by brainstorming possible topics and bible references

Create your own framework to record bible references you will read, key events within it and your thoughts. In week 8 you will use this to write what you learned from the bible about forgiveness.

New ending

In class, we have read Thirst, our task was to make up our own ending to the story.

I think I have done the following well: I have enjoyed using figurative language and show not tell in my stories it has helped me make my stories more exciting.

New ending

Dad shouted once more with an infuriated voice.” Ryder you thief, come here now. Stop hiding you little rat!!” Then Ryder heard his dad's voice and his heart started pounding like a hammer smashing against his chest. Blood flushes through his brain like a waterfall. Guilt starting to build up inside of him. What am I gonna do if dad finds me? Ryder thought. Should I run away, or should I just go home and tell mum and dad that I stole the neighbor's water? Ryder decided to face his parents and starts walking home. Walking the sun was crushing my soul like a car crusher in a junkyard. He opens the door and is faced with Brooke. Her face was drenched with tears. Guilt, disappointment, regret- flooded through  Ryder’s being.

“Come into the living room now,” Ryder's mum said. Ryder follows his parents and he sits on the couch, chewing on his nails.  “What were you thinking? Why do you think you can just go and steal someone else's property? You can get me and your dad fired from that job“ scolds mum. “I don’t know mum. I just looked at Brooke and she looked so sad and unhappy. We needed to clean our uniforms because we haven't washed our uniforms for over a month. We haven't even been able to actually shower because we have no water. “

Ryder listens to his mum and dad and does everything around the house. He is slowly learning his lesson not to steal without asking for permission from the owner of the house and whoever paid for the water. Ryder learns slowly, but in the fourth week, something patters down on the roof. Rain.
